Volunteers thank you BBQ 2025

20th June 2025 - Denvilles Club

We all know how much the functioning and success of our u3a depends on the commitment of Group Coordinators and other volunteers and we are very grateful to these people. Each year, to show the members’ appreciation, the Committee invite these people to a “thank you” event.
The 20th of June saw the 2025 annual “thank you” event for volunteers return to the Denvilles Club in Havant. The property used to be known as Denvilles House and the panelling in what was the Drawing Room is believed to have come from RMS Mauritania.
Nearly 70 Group Coordinators and volunteers turned up on a very hot day for an afternoon of fun, food and friends. Fortunately we were blessed with a breeze and even a few spots of rain which made taking part in the organised side shows much more comfortable. The barbecue food supplied by The Denvilles Club was excellent and we were also treated to live music all afternoon and a little sing along while we digested our food. There was a great atmosphere as everyone mingled and chatted, doing what u3a people do best - talking to old friends and making new ones!
