The Outings group meet on the 3rd Monday of the month from 2.15 – 3.45pm in the Front Hall of Cosham Baptist Church.
This is a group for all of you to take part in, so everyone can become involved – you can be responsible for your special interest. You can ask for clarification on any points at any of the meetings. Please bring to a meeting your suggestions and ideas of things to do and places to visit, so we can continually add to the group’s programme.
The outings will be local to this area; with a 30-mile radius. This means it can involve outings to Southampton in the west, Chichester to the east, Winchester to the north, Isle of Wight to the south and anywhere within that radius.
The different places we hope to visit are shops within shops and garden centres, theatres and cinemas, farm shops and cafes, museums and outdoor events. This is not an exhaustive list; we will only be constrained by your imagination!
You might be thinking how do I get to these different places. Well, all modes of transport will be used; walking to cycling, buses and trains, and of course, cars. Coaches are another mode of transport but they have become very expensive to use in recent times.
The Group Leader, Marion, must be kept informed of all arranged Outings, who is attending each one and who is responsible for the event, at all times. This imperative for the u3a insurance on each member to be viable.
All members of the group are required to pay the venue’s rent money up front, £5.00 each quarter, starting in January 2023 for this group to operate, thank you.
